Policy Statement of the White Mountain Summer Homes

Water Improvement District

The Water Improvement District is a not for profit governmental organization formed in the 1970's to save the White Mountain Summer Homes water supply from a pending sale which would have sent the water production to other areas on the mountain. The homeowners recognized that water was very important and wanted to control and improve the water system to their benefit and to insure that it would always be available and at a resonable cost.

It is the policy of the Water Improvement District to provide water of the highest quality and in required quantity to the property owner within the boundaries of the White Mountain Summer Homes.

You will be receiving your final billing of the season which will include your regular billing for October AND a pre-billing for your minimum (base rate) for November through April. The next reading and billing will be the last week of May 2026 and will include your water usage for November through April and your May regular billing. Please review our latest Newsletter for additional information

We do NOT read meters on a regular basis during the winter and recommend you have your main water connection turned off prior to your departure for the winter. To do this, please EMAIL wmshwater@wmshwid.com and allow 48 business hours to complete your request. When you wish to have your water turned back on, EMAIL your request and again allow 48 business hours

Your main water connection (curbstop) is property of the WID and can be turned on/off by personnel of the WID only. Any damage done outside of contracted WID personnel is at the expense of the homeowner.
